We are proud to be at the forefront of innovation in raised access floors, offering solutions specifically designed to enhance energy efficiency in buildings. Recently, Antonio Rubio, National Account Manager of Polygroup Europe, shared in an interview our firm commitment to environmental sustainability, reflected in our LEED certification.
The LEED certification values both the sustainability of production and the reusability of materials. Our GAMAFLOR raised access floors stand out for their high recyclability and use of recycled raw materials, significantly contributing to air quality improvement and building sustainability. Thanks to these features, our products have superior LEED ratings and provide LEED credits to the projects in which they are implemented.
Innovation in Materials and Processes
Polygroup’s raised access floors are equipped with advanced technologies that optimize airflow and temperature distribution. This translates into more efficient and cost-effective operations by facilitating access and management of HVAC installations. A notable example is the GAMAFLOR FULL STEEL system, composed of fully encapsulated steel panels that offer maximum strength and durability, significantly improving airflow distribution and thermal efficiency, and reducing operational costs related to HVAC.
Additionally, the integration of UFAD (Underfloor Air Distribution) technology allows air to be distributed through the raised floor, enabling precise and efficient thermal control, reducing the need for traditional air conditioning systems, and improving indoor air quality.
Practical Applications
In projects like the G.L. Office Building in Spain, the GAMAFLOR FULL STEEL system was implemented to maximize HVAC system efficiency. This resulted in a significant reduction in energy consumption and improved air distribution and thermal comfort for occupants. This installation not only improved energy efficiency but also provided greater flexibility for future space modifications.
Another example is the 112 Emergency Control Center in Spain, where GAMAFLOR raised access floors were used to facilitate cable management and improve air distribution. The UFAD technology enabled uniform air distribution, optimizing equipment performance and improving the center’s overall energy efficiency.
The Montparnasse Station in France used the GAMAFLOR PAC system for its technical and operational areas. This system allowed for effective management of installations and improved the building’s energy efficiency, contributing to a more sustainable environment.
Future of Energy Efficiency in Construction
At Polygroup, we are committed to innovation in energy efficiency. Our raised access floors not only meet current expectations but also set future trends in sustainable construction, establishing new standards for the global market. We use recycled and recyclable materials in the manufacturing of our panels, reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to the circular economy.
Furthermore, our modular and flexible designs allow for easy space reconfiguration, adapting to new technologies and changing building needs without incurring significant costs. Continuous research and development at Polygroup ensure that our products continue to improve in energy efficiency and sustainability, keeping us as market leaders and offering solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
