On 13 September 2026, Madrid experienced one of the most historic moments in Spanish motorsport — the return of Formula 1 to the capital after more than 45 years of absence. The MADRING circuit, located in the IFEMA Madrid and Valdebebas area, hosted the Spanish Grand Prix in front of more than 120,000 spectators per day in what became the largest sporting event of the year in Spain.
Polygroup was part of that history.
4,700 m² at the heart of the circuit
For the construction of the Pit Building — the complex above the garages on the main straight of the circuit, built by Eiffage Construcción on behalf of IFEMA Madrid under a contract of €68.1 million — Polygroup supplied 4,700 m² of GAMAFLOR PAC with HPV Lider finish.
The Pit Building is not a temporary structure. It is a three-storey, 18.5-metre-high building designed in accordance with the requirements of the FIA and FOM, housing during the Grand Prix the team garages and boxes, the Paddock Club and VIP areas — and, once the race weekend concludes, permanently integrated into IFEMA Madrid’s day-to-day operations for trade fairs, congresses and events.
An infrastructure built for an extraordinary event. Designed to last for decades.
Why GAMAFLOR PAC with HPV Lider finish
The Pit Building is the operational heart of a Formula 1 Grand Prix. It is the space where teams manage race strategy, where pit stops are executed, where the highest density of technical and electronic equipment is concentrated. And it is a space where the raised access floor is not a finishing element — it is active infrastructure.
The GAMAFLOR PAC system provides full accessibility to the electrical, data and communications installations running beneath the floor — essential for the operation of F1 teams throughout the race weekend. Panels are independently removable in seconds, without special tools and without affecting adjacent areas, allowing rapid interventions in an environment where time is literally the deciding factor.
The HPV Lider finish delivers antistatic properties, high resistance to abrasion and intensive traffic, and easy maintenance — essential in an environment with high electronic equipment density and in continuous use both during the Grand Prix and throughout its subsequent life as an IFEMA exhibition space.
A project that demonstrates the versatility of GAMAFLOR
The MADRING F1 2026 project is one of the most singular in Polygroup’s portfolio in Spain — and one that best illustrates the versatility of GAMAFLOR systems to respond to extraordinary use environments, tight installation schedules and technical demands outside the conventional.
4,700 m² installed in the Pit Building of one of the most watched sporting events in the world. An installation that had to be ready before the first teams arrived at the circuit — and that will continue to perform for decades after the last car has crossed the finish line.
At Polygroup, we work on projects of any scale and any sector — from critical security infrastructure to the most iconic stages in world sport.
