OLD HARBOUR POWER PLANT. SOUTH JAMAICA
SPECIALIZED RAISED ACCESS FLOOR
The creation of new specialized infrastructure always comes with it the necessity to create a broad work team that brings together professionals from different fields. This was the case with OLD HARBOR THERMOELECTRIC PLANT in SOUTH JAMAICA, where a cluster of international companies intervened to carry out the project that started in 2016, and is the largest of its kind in Jamaica. Located 70 km from the capital, this new plant is an investment of great dimension for the country, since it will improve the CO2 emissions of the whole island.
POLYGROUP provided the raised access floor system at the beginning of 2018 in two different modalities, GAMAFLOR FULL STEEL and GAMAFLOR PAC 35/05. In most of the project, we chose the GAMAFLOR PAC 35/05 raised floor system with HPV LIDER heterogeneous vinyl finish which is manufactured with a transparent wear layer that provides a high resistance to traffic. On the other hand, the FULL STEEL system confers high resistance to loads (41 kN/m2) as well as the maximum level of fire resistance A1, considered as a non-combustible or fireproof raised access floor, ideal for machinery areas and specialized uses.
The OLD HARBOR THERMOELECTRIC PLANT in SOUTH JAMAICA was developed by WEPRO CONSTRUCTIONS, an expert in construction in ISA. Both raised access floor systems supplied by POLYGROUP in Jamaica provide great stability to both heavy traffic and the machinery used in the thermoelectric plant, thus ensuring the safety of the users.
