LOYOLA UNIVERSITY. SEVILLE

RAISED ACCESS FLOOR FOR PLATINUM LEED CAMPUS
The new campus of Loyola University in Seville has been conceived as an ambitious project with a greater interest in obtaining international certifications. Since its conception by the Luis Vidal + Architects studio, the university campus is distributed in several buildings: central body and library, in addition to the recreational and sports facilities that are spread around the central bodies. The main building that houses both classrooms and offices, composed of different central courtyards, the design tries to make the most of natural ventilation and lighting.
Aiming to become a sustainable energy-efficient building, the main building incorporated nearly 2.000m2 of Gamaflor raised access floor system on the office and classroom areas. These areas compose the majority of this building use. The elected system was Gamaflor PAC 35/05 with a Linoleum covering applied from the factory, in a reference in a marbled light gray tone. This raised floor system is the most suitable for this project given its versatility for large surfaces, such as office and classroom areas.
All the required cables and network infrastructure was distributed underneath the access floor system. This distribution provided exact connection points to the office and classroom areas without any waste nor excessive use of materials. The proper distribution as well as the easy access provided by the system, resulting in a low-maintenance facility that will optimize better its resources.
Polygroup is proud to have been able to participate in such successful projects as Loyola University, which has achieved numerous environmental certifications such as Platinum Leed certification.
