HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION INGA. CONGO

RAISED FLOOR FOR HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION
The Democratic Republic of Congo is making great investments in large-scale infrastructure, such as expanding electrical network to reach and provide power to the population. The national electricity supplier Société Nationale d’Électricité (SNEL) had previously awarded a contract of 58 million euros in 2013 to modernize the INGA I hydroelectric plant in the Democratic Republic of the Congo considered as one of the most important projects for the country from the energy point of view. The projects foresee that, the power generated in this place would reach 39 GW once the GRAN INGA macro-project is concluded, which would provide more than twice as much energy as the Three Gorges dam in China.
As part of this plan to improve and expand the hydroelectric infrastructure in the Congo River, POLYGROUP is part of this project in which various specialized companies in the sector have been involved, providing a raised access floor solution for specific rooms. For this project, the GAMAFLOR PAC raised floor system was used in specific areas where a special management of the facilities is required, which are channeled through the plenum created by the raised floor. Additionally, different accessories were provided that facilitated the access of the installations, providing also key connection points for the comfort of the users.
POLYGROUP has participated in numerous projects on the west African coast supplying raised access floor systems in Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Angola; These projects together with the new Hydroelectric Power Station in Congo are important references for the firm in Africa.
