ELECTRICAL SUBSTATIONS MAMBA, RWABUSORO, RILIMA

RAISED FLOOR FOR ELECTRICAL SUBSTATIONS
The current government of the Republic of Rwanda aims to expand considerably the scope of the African country’s power grid, which has led to the construction of three new electric substations that will provide electric power to the country’s population. Currently, only 25% of Rwandan households have access to electricity, therefore the ambitious expansion plan aims to provide 75% of the population after the construction of electrical substations.
With a large budget of 10.5 million Euros, the Mamba-Rwabusoro-Rilima power substations will be strategically distributed in the rural districts of Gisagara, Nyanza and Bugesera of Rwanda, providing a flow of energy supply to the electricity network produced in Mamba’s Biomass Power Station.
For this ambitious project, POLYGROUP provided a raised access floor system for each of the three Mamba-Rwabusoro-Rilima electrical substations. In each one of them was installed a system of access floor of the GAMAFLOR PAC 35/05 range, manufactured with panels of high density agglomerate, galvanized steel sheet in the inferior part of the panel and upper cover of antistatic vinyl type LIDER of 2.5 mm of thickness. We opted for a high pressure vinyl finish type LIDER which is manufactured with a total thickness of 2.5 mm with a transparent wear layer of 0.7 mm to obtain the maximum guarantee against the damage caused by the heavy traffic of people inside the electrical substations.
