In 2018, Polygroup supplied 2,500 m² of GAMAFLOR PAC 35/05 with HPV Lider finish for a Ministry of Interior (MOI) facility in the Diplomatic Quarter of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — in collaboration with IKK & Partners for Building & Construction Materials Co. Ltd, Polygroup’s local partner for this project.
The Diplomatic Quarter: an institutional environment of maximum demand
The Diplomatic Quarter of Riyadh is Saudi Arabia’s reference diplomatic enclave. Established in 1975 and covering 800 hectares, it hosts most of the country’s foreign embassies, high-level government departments and state security bodies. It is, by definition, one of the most controlled and strategically significant institutional environments in the region.
A Ministry of Interior facility in this context is not simply an office building. It is a security infrastructure where technical standards, installation accessibility and system durability must meet the most demanding requirements of the Saudi public administration.
A plenum range that defines the project’s complexity
One of the most technically significant aspects of this project is the plenum height range — configured between 210 and 985 mm across the installation. A variation of this magnitude within a single project is not a design error: it is a response to the different technical infrastructure requirements of each functional area of the building.
Higher plenum zones accommodate larger-volume installations — HVAC systems, high-density data networks, security electrical infrastructure. Reduced plenum zones respond to structural constraints or areas where underfloor infrastructure density is lower.
The adjustable pedestal structure of the GAMAFLOR PAC 35/05 system responds directly to this variability — enabling precise levelling across the full surface without dividing the installation into different systems or requiring prior slab preparation works.
